Merrell works on <a href=\"https:\/\/jayich.io\/experiments\/\">3D printed ion traps<\/a> in collaboration with Prof. Andrew Jayich&#8217;s group. Merrell is a <a href=\"https:\/\/intriqate.ucsb.edu\/\">InTriQATe NRT Fellow.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/pattersongroup.physics.ucsb.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Image-from-iOS-1-759x1024.jpg\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Image-from-iOS-1-759x1024.jpg\" width=\"314\" height=\"423\" \/><strong>Samuel Kresch <\/strong>works on the ion trap. Joining the group initially as an undergraduate in the winter of 2022 he has stayed on the team for his doctoral studies.
